Starting Wednesday, February 25th, and continuing approximately two months, the intersection of Duncan and Newstead will close as a project to upgrade the Metropolitan Sewer District storm sewer line continues. Sections of Duncan east of Newstead have been closed during the project but will reopen when the intersection closes. Boyle continues to be closed and is expected to reopen this spring.

The closure will affect several shuttle routes and pick up locations (see shuttle information below). Public safety will monitor the traffic and dispatch officers to direct traffic where necessary. Employees should plan extra time in their commutes as everyone adjust to changes in routes and travel patterns. Dates of the work are weather dependent, and updates will be shared through numerous communications channels.

Shuttle Service Changes

As roadwork projects continue to accommodate construction throughout the campus, some shuttle routes and pick-up locations will change temporarily. The most significant change is that shuttles will no longer provide front-door service but will drop off at the depot.

Additional changes will be addressed and communicated in phases as they occur. The first changes begin Wednesday, February 25th until late April and include:

  • Red shuttle: stop at 4444 Forest Park building will be removed
  • Orange shuttle: pick-up location will move to Duncan/Taylor Garage
  • Blue shuttle: stop at Duncan will be removed; add stop at Duncan/Taylor Garage to pick up Goldfarb students and passengers from The Rehabilitation Institute of St. Louis
  • Yellow shuttle (COH only): pick-up location will be in parking lot of 4444 Forest Park building

There will be a public safety presence at the shuttle depot from 4 – 8am and from 5pm – 1am.
